OOIDA (Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association) is a nonprofit, membership-based association for small trucking businesses, owner operators, and professional company drivers. It is not part of the government.
Founded in 1973, OOIDA helps drivers get better insurance options and other services.
OOIDA has over 150,000 members and 200,000+ trucks in member fleets. Because the group is large, top insurance companies offer strong prices and options.
If you are in trucking — as an owner-operator or a company driver — you can join by paying the membership fee.
Below are the main benefit groups and examples in simple words.
