Carolina Tank Lines is a small, steady, and well‑run company. The trucks aren’t brand new, but they’re well maintained, and the yard is clean and organized. The company treats drivers with respect, offers good home time, and has a supportive culture. Pay is solid—especially for local work—and the equipment is better than what you’d expect from a fleet this size, which makes carolina tank lines jobs appealing for drivers who want stability and a dependable workplace.
Reviews highlight clean, well‑maintained equipment, a respectful and supportive culture, reliable home time, and steady pay. Like many small fleets, there are a few tradeoffs—occasional gaps in pre‑planning, some late‑night or early‑morning deliveries, concerns about favoritism, and week‑to‑week mileage swings. Safety performance is a strong point, with low out‑of‑service rates and no recent crash reports, showing solid compliance and good maintenance practices.

Carolina Tank Lines, Inc. (CTL), established in 1976, is a stable, long-standing trucking company specializing in Chemical and Refrigerated Transportation, alongside warehousing services. Operating a modest fleet of 46 power units, CTL focuses on the eastern coast and cross-country U.S. routes. The company is highly praised for its excellent safety record (significantly low vehicle and driver Out-of-Service rates) and its "family-style" culture where drivers feel valued and known by name. CTL offers comprehensive benefits and reliable pay, making it an excellent choice for drivers who prioritize stability, safety, and a quality work environment over the highest possible CPM.

Great regional position/ home weekends / excellent equipment, medical support supplies. Enjoying my current position 2019 / nothing further to add, at this time. Thanks.
Miles are there ,good equipment , great shop and helpful to get you back on the road , they know you by name and not a number , family emergency is a plus , will go above and beyond .. experienced that on several occasions
I loved working at ctl it was one of the best jobs I've ever had. If I had known what I know now I would have stayd. They have great trucks and trailers. Top of the line equipment.
Great company, great pay, great benefits. They truly care about the Team! They listen to your needs and try to get you miles but you have to be willing to run the miles and not be lazy and belly ache.
It is a great place to work. They care about people and their families. Home time is great and pay is good as well. Equipment is well maintained and taken care of.
What is the best part of working at the company? I really enjoyed working at ctl What is the most stressful part about working at the company? There was no stress, the pay and people I worked with were very good What is the work environment and culture like at the company? everyone treated me and other drivers real good What is a typical day like for you at the company? getting loaded or unloading, enjoying the day
This was a great experience. The original owner sold the company to a much larger global company and this opened many opportunities that allowed me to grow as a professional and expand my career.
Time off is not a problem, micro management through driver facing camera's in the trucks, beautiful equipment, excellent service garage, good dispatch, longer loads are few and far between, middle of the night deliveries.

Robbie and Jason are the best! They provide great service and even better communication. I can always trust them and the drivers at Carolina Tank Lines to handle our freight with care.
Witnessed truck number 590 (DOT# 226571) trying to run vehicles off the road last night in Nashville, he was jumping halfway into people's lanes, and then jerking the wheel trying to force them off the road, and speeding through a construction zone / passing on the right over a solid white line in that zone, multiple times. I'm surprised the driver didn't injure somebody. I thought he was drunk because he was doing it to everybody on the road, but when he realized he was being filmed, started driving normally again. It's egregious that you would hire an unstable individual like this to drive for your business. I will absolutely be reporting this to the state police and DOT.
It's a joy to drive for a company that prioritizes the comfort
They invest in their drivers. Good for new drivers to apply
It's rare to find such down-to-earth owners in this industry
Never have I felt as secure on the road as I do with Carolina Tank Lines.
It's a breath of fresh air to work with a company that truly values
top notch operation
Great Service
If I could give zero stars I would! I don't actually believe that a single person works in the 'Dependable Customer Support' Group. Spent 25 minuets on hold with the recording telling me there was one call ahead of me and that my call is very important to us! Dependable would mean that an agent would answer the phone! Is this a 1 person company? Better support would allow the ability to track shipments online.
While driving in 95 South in Columbia MD the driver if tractor number 536 towing trailer number 251 decided that they wanted to be in my lane. No signal no nothing, forced me into the high speed breakdown lane to avoid an accident. Your drivers need to learn to drive!!!!
I was driving on I-20 just south of Columbia this morning and truck 552 I watched send a car into the shoulder and literally almost take out 2 other cars fronts because he cut them off. Then he proceeded to do 70 in a 60 mph construction zone. This person needs to really slow down and take more precaution.
Very clean and safe most professional on and off the street they definitely got you covered
No load in freight is worth a person/s life. Door tag = By Country Driver for Carolina Tank Lines Disregarding other people’s lives by tailgating with a 30k + lb. sledge hammer as a profession on the highway at speeds of 65+? Reckless driving and unfit for the road with your poor ethics. You bring that companies name through the dirt with your poor and unsafe driving. No amount of freight is worth someones life.
Driver tried running me off HWY I20 in West Texas after almost running off the driver behind me on purpose. Contacted the company, no one answered. This was reported to the police as well.
You want clean trucks reliable service call Carolina tank line
My school ordered tanks from this company and they took FOREVER to come in.

Great equipment good miles I enjoyed working there I miss working there sometimes they have a good shop keeps your truck serviced
If you're a team looking for consistent miles. This is the company for you. The equipment is first class. Kenworth T680 s. Refrigerators. A.P.U"s. And they're even installing satellites in the truck. All you do is pay for the service. This is a company for your not a number your person with a name. We've even had the privilege of the owner of the company calling us a couple of times and asking is how things are. We should have made the switch a long time ago.
There are some solid folks that work here. No liquid or gaseous beings at this place, by God.

It takes great people to make a great company. Carolina Tank Lines is no exception!! They are a fabulous company that truly cares about their employees and customers. Carolina Tank Lines has great people and is, without a doubt, a great company!
This company offers excellent pay, benefits, and truly values its team members. They listen to your needs and work hard to get you the miles you want, as long as you're motivated and willing to put in the effort without complaining.
Working at CTL was one of the best experiences of my career. If I had known back then what I know now, I would have stayed. They provide top-notch trucks, trailers, and equipment, making the job even more enjoyable.
There's no shortage of miles, the equipment is high-quality, and the shop is fantastic and efficient in getting you back on the road. They treat you like a person, not just a number, and their understanding during family emergencies is exceptional. I've personally experienced their willingness to go above and beyond on multiple occasions.
