Was a good company to work for until I got hurt at work. Then I was basically thrown out with the bath water. When I was finally cleared to return to work the nobody had the balls to return my phone calls. The owner didn't have the balls to tell me himself or have someone from HR tell I no longer worked for them. I'd avoid this company at all cost. Not worth the hassle
My husband works there, and they really take care of their employees!!
Pacific is a great company. They really truly care about their drivers. Lots of miles so be ready to run hard. I know many companies lie, but you will get 3-4k miles a week dedicated.
This is my work place and I love it they have a lot of miles to give I run right at 4 k a week and have done so for a year and a half with a new truck with everything thing in it and the the trucks at least 70 mph
My experience at Pacific Shipping was mixed. Training was minimal—just a pamphlet that didn’t cover everything. When mistakes happened, people were rude rather than helpful. If you’re not properly trained, how are you supposed to know what to do? If you're accustomed to weekly pay from an OTR job, switching to biweekly pay takes adjustment. Waiting three weeks for a paycheck is rough.
I believe your negative experience at Pacific was valid. The owner appears unstable and inconsiderate. One driver left his previous job to work here, only to be fired over his voting choice. The trucks may look new and clean on the surface, but maintenance is neglected, making them unsafe. Drivers complain that nothing gets fixed. The recruiter is friendly at first, but nothing she promises is reliable. Pay fluctuates—decent for some, inadequate for others. Always track your miles, as they manipulate earnings. The owner is unpredictable and prone to angry outbursts. When drivers leave, the company may spread false stories, making it harder to find new employment. Before joining, I asked other drivers if they were happy working here, and they said yes—but they were family members of staff. Over 18 months, ten drivers were hospitalized, or their accidents were severe enough to require towing—amounting to 10% of the fleet. Check DOT safety records. Job security is nonexistent. Upset the wrong person, and you’re gone. Cold weather can be extreme, and you don’t want to have your belongings thrown out into the snow. High turnover rates exist, yet they find ways to retain drivers.
I must have been lucky—this company really took care of me. They ensured I had all the necessary credentials and treated me like family from the moment I walked in.
