Voyager Nation – Trucking Reviews

Voyager Trucking

Voyager Express is a solid mid‑size carrier with newer equipment, clean terminals, and a reputation for treating drivers decently. They don’t have a huge online presence and don’t post many voyager trucking jobs publicly, but the pay they offer for OTR solo work — $96k–$110k a year at $0.66–$0.76 CPM — is strong for a company of their size.

They’re a good fit for drivers who want steady miles, reliable equipment, and a supportive shop and office team, especially newer drivers looking for a stable place to learn the ropes.

Voyager Trucking reviews

Voyager Express can be a good starter company or a place for someone who wants steady miles and doesn’t mind straight pay with long hours. The culture depends heavily on the terminal and dispatcher you get. Some drivers describe it as family‑oriented and supportive, while others say management is disorganized and slow to fix problems.

If you want miles, newer equipment, and a team that generally tries to help, you’ll probably do fine here. If you need overtime, strong benefits, or consistent management, this company may feel frustrating.

Why Voyager Nation?

Why Voyager Nation?

Voyager Express, established in 1993, is a small-to-mid-sized regional dry van truckload carrier with approximately 75 power units. The company operates primarily throughout the western 11 states, with hubs in Denver, Dallas, Kansas City, Phoenix, and Southern California. Voyager is often cited as a good starting point for new CDL graduates due to its steady freight and consistent weekly home time. However, potential applicants should be aware of a straight-time pay structure, a noted lack of pay raises, and frequent reports of pay inaccuracies requiring adjustment.

The trucker with VIN# LSLP1212 decided it would be a good idea to cut me off in a construction zone driving much faster than he should. I honked my horn because I honestly didn’t think he saw me at first. He then proceeded to shoot me a bird. This is unacceptable behavior and reckless driving. I sure hope he learns to be saver on the road in the future before he kills someone.

Timely, reliable, dependable. Had an incredible experience working with Voyager Nation. The staff is straight forward and speak with you without any extra added layers or hurdles. Their driver seemed to enjoy his job which is a rare sight to see. Will be using and recommending their services to fellow business owners and even drivers.

Voyager Nation Inc – A Game Changer for Owner-Operators! At first, I wasn’t having much success as an owner-operator because I was listening to the wrong advice. Most people don’t mention that Voyager Nation goes beyond just providing loads—they also offer coaching and mentorship. When I reached out for guidance, Mike and Christian completely changed my perspective on the trucking business. After applying their advice, I started making more and more money. If you’re struggling, don’t be shy—ask for advice and follow it. You’ll be surprised at the difference it makes. Voyager Nation truly supports its owner-operators, and I couldn’t be more grateful!

The driver of truck 703 had his face in his cellphone, and his cellphone in-hand at about shoulder height, and eyes completely off the road in the middle lane, traveling almost 10mph below the speed limit. 16:30, May 31st, approx 50 miles east of Dayton, OH on I-70 going west.

After 7 years of being with Voyager I am retiring . I have been an owner Operator for 24 years and this is the best company I have been leased to by far. Dispatch is always searching for the best loads available to put the most money on your trucks. My Dispatcher Ingrid is like family and always cared about the sucess of my business. Voyager knows how to run a trucking company that meets the needs of an owner operator.

I was driving home from work today and there truck cut me off, almost took the front end of my new car off I was in the slow lane. It then threw a rock at my windshield messing it up. I called spoke with a man in safety with trailed number of truck told me he would look into and call me right back. He took all my info no call back!!!!! Thanks, but with drivers like that they should not be on the road, they will end up hurting or killing someone!!!!

Oh My Gosh, where to begin? I have been driving some 26+ yrs, and I have seen and dealt with a wide range of characters. And most of which had no clue about what a driver or Owner/Operator has to go through. The whole staff at VOYAGER NATION is very well up with knowledge and gives great respect to drivers and O/O. Since I heard about this company, I have had absolute positive help and consideration from the staff. Sani, my dispatcher is by far the best that I have ever had. I thank everyone on staff at VOYAGER NATION for all the truth and honesty they have shown my wife and I. They treat was like family and are willing to bend over backwards for us. They pay is outstanding. I have heard people say things negatively about pay. But keep in mind, that your own debt issues must be known, for you to understand your weekly take home. And I think $3000 - $4000 weekly take home after all my fuel and other cost is pretty darn good. That's all for us to put in the bank and do as we wish with. There is definitely money to be made working with, (not for), these fine people at VOYAGER NATION. I would highly recommend that anyone that is an Owner Operator to definitely contact the recruiting Dept. and inquire about becoming part of the family. Again, to all of VOYAGER NATION's staff, My wife and I thank you all from the deepest part our hearts. We look forward to a long and prosperous venture.

I'm a broker and have been working extensively with Voyager Nation for about a year and a half. Especially with dispatchers Sani and Bryce, there is always 100% transparency and excellent communication between us and because of that things run smoothly. This a company you can trust to get the job done. Drivers are professional, are very capable and paperwork is always turned in promptly. I highly recommend working with this company.

Worked with Voyager Nation for some time and I learned a lot thanks to all the knowledge they shared. The entire team at Voyager Nation were always respectful and willing to help. Today I have my own authority so I dont run with them anymore but I'm thankful for the time I spent with them. If you are looking for a well organized company out of Florida than this company will surprise you. You will see that the percentage you share with it will be a good investment.

As a new Owner Operator I had tons of things on my plate. But Christian and his team are amazing. In them I found the support I was looking for. I have complete confidence they will work hard to build a long lasting relationship that I am also ready to give 100% towards. I feel great and am so excited to have found a place were I truly feel comfortable saying I will retire from here.

This is to me very sad But is the honest trust I try very hard to make some money with voyager nation. Ran all week for 3 weeks (except one day) Very hard and rushing the whole week Risking of getting into a accident And on top of that running against time Because the ELD (keep in mind i have a florida tag). So since I deside to drive in the state of florida only. i get penalized and punish and get horrible rates from this company when i know those loads are paying more They make you feel like you are at fault of getting shity rates

I'd first like to start off with their top reviews being all from current employees... Moving past that, my wife and I were driving with our 2 young children to Atlanta, and during our drive in the POURING rain comes a huge semi driving like a bat out of hell. He almost caused several accidents including us by the amount of spray he was producing. Going atleast 80 mph in POURING rain. His truck had the ID 1916. This driver should be in jail, and this company needs to do a better job hiring.

However, they seem to change policies at their discretion, which has negatively impacted the cost-benefit ratio for me. Over the past three months, my paycheck has been below minimum wage, averaging roughly $0.70 per mile after deductions for their share and fuel expenses. Managing truck payments, maintenance, and other associated costs—including a 25% fee, $50 per week for trailer maintenance, bobtail insurance, optional physical damage coverage, a $2,000 tag fee, and $1,000 escrow—makes profitability challenging. Additionally, IFTA charges are divided among drivers, which may lead to unexpected surprises.
